1st - 6th Grade Children's Ministry
What to Expect
Welcome to The Venues Children's Ministry, thank you for sharing your child with us on Sunday morning. Our volunteers are exceptional. They are prepared to invest in your child each Sunday so that they can build a relationship with them in hopes that they will 'lean in' when they tell them how the Greatest Man who ever walked the earth wants to be their friend. We have no slides or fun houses, lighting or stages... just people. Wonderful people who want to know your kid and help facilitate a relationship not only with Jesus but their peers as well.
First Time Guests -
Our 1st through 6th grade children stay with us to worship then will dismiss and go to the following areas:
1st -2nd Grade Boys- The tables in the Wellington near the windows
3rd - 4th Grade Boys- The tables in the Wellington by the double doors
1st - 2nd Grade Girls- On the floor by the elevators upstairs
3rd - 4th Grade Girls- On the carpeted stairs leading up to the Wellington
5th - 6th Girls- On the floor right beside the round railing upstairs
5th - 6th Boys – On the floor outside the restrooms on the first floor
We want you to be comfortable sending your children upstairs after the worship. Feel free to accompany your child upstairs. We also have our “Bus Drivers” making sure everyone gets to the right location.
Each Sunday, your child will take a tour through our neighborhood. You will hear your 1st through 4th grade child talk about the cafe, service station, family room, and library. They rotate through each of these stations spending 8-10 minutes at each place.
At the cafe, we hope to spiritually feed your child. Here they will enjoy a snack while listening to a Bible story focusing on the character of Jesus. Next, they will spend time at the service station learning what it means to serve others and will be given opportunities to serve others here. Many activities happen at the family room, most importantly we focus on building relationships among the group. Here we pray together, go deeper in our conversation about the teaching and encourage student leadership. Finally, our children spend time in the library. We provide a simple memory verse each month with incentives for knowing it. Short video clips, Bible trivia games, and hands on training are used in the library to equip the students with knowledge of the Bible.
Each group of children have a 'bus driver' to help them get from location to location. You can find your child at their home base after service is over which is the same place they go to after worship. Please help your child's teacher by showing them the backing of the name tag when you arrive to pick your child up.
KREW (5th and 6th Grade Students)
5th and 6th grade students should meet at their locations to do their own Bible study after worship. If your 5th or 6th grader would like to volunteer we would love to plug them into a spot. We separate out into boys and girls but come together from time to time to play games or do activities.
We encourage their involvement! They are some of our best volunteers and they love doing it! Please contact: email@example.com for further information about that or catch me on Sunday to discuss the volunteer options for this age.
Our Children’s Advisory Board (CAB) Members are: Nicole Bower, April Stiles, Esther Swanson, Andrea Turner, Cara Davison, and Beth Dawson.
The unique station model of the elementary ministry allows for a fun and easy way to serve! When you volunteer in the elementary ministry, you get to serve alongside of several other volunteers. As you rotate through the stations you will notice a team effort. Our short and purposeful stations make the time fly by. Family worship before hand allows you to connect with God before serving. Please contact Hollyhime@hotmail.com to get plugged in. We are scheduling volunteers once a month. As we get more volunteers, we will decrease that to every six weeks.
If you are interested in Baptisms please contact Barby.firstname.lastname@example.org .
