The Venues Band FAQs
1. Who gets involved with music at The Venues?
The music team is comprised of experienced and incredibly humble musicians and vocalists. They are committed to the Venues and our vision to love and serve all people and want to use their gifts to help make that vision a reality.
2. If I'm asked to join the team, what will serving in this Capacity look like?
Team members are asked to serve about 1-2 times every 4 weeks depending on the instrument played. Team members serve on a Sunday morning for both services at 9:30 and 11am. On the weeks you serve, you will be expected to learn the songs for that week on your own time and with the band during a weekday rehearsal.
3. When are rehearsals?
The band rehearses on Wednesday nights at 7pm and Sunday mornings at 7:30am prior to the services. Vocal rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 6:30pm. Wednesday rehearsals typically last 2 hours. Songs are provided online in advance for team members to learn prior to rehearsal. The team is expected to know and learn the songs prior to the weekday rehearsal.
4. What is expected of me for the audition?
We will ask you to prepare 1-2 songs that we will provide along with a song of your choosing that highlights your talent. Specific expectations will be given based on your instrument or vocal range. You may be asked to perform with other musicians.
Vocalists - Consistently sing on pitch. Sing harmonies. Know how to control vibrato and keep it to a minimum. Know how to control your tone of voice to blend with other vocalists.
Instrumentalists - Ability to play a variety of music styles with consistent rhythm and tempo.
