Nearly 47,000 people in Greene County (or 1 in 6) are food insecure according to Feeding America, and the Venues has multiple projects focused on alleviating that stressor for our neighbors:
Field Elementary garden
Venues volunteers assist Field Elementary in planting and maintaining their school garden - working with students one afternoon per week, providing seasonal maintenance, and harvesting access produce to benefit Crosslines.
Weekend Backpack Program
Each month, The Venues provides weekend food for 30 at-risk youth at Rare Breed and 10 students at Field Elementary.
Crosslines Food Pantry:
5-7 Venues volunteers serve in the Crosslines food pantry on the 4th Wednesday of each month from 8:45a-1:45p, walking with families in need through the pantry to shop for needed food and hygiene products.
Lenten Fish Drive | During the season of Lent, The Venues collects canned fish to be distributed to families in need in our community.
Souper Bowl of Caring | Each January, The Venues supports Ozarks Food Harvest in collecting canned goods to help feed hungry neighbors in our community.
