What is the Social Justice and Response Team?
The Social Justice and Response Team is a group of passionate volunteers and community builders committed to meeting the needs of our neighbors—both in urgent moments and by tackling the root causes of injustice.
We believe that loving people means more than offering help in times of crisis—it means working daily toward a world where everyone has the chance to thrive. Real change happens when we show up for our local community—not just on holidays or special events, but week after week, with open hands and open hearts.
At The Venues, Social Justice and Response isn’t just a ministry—it’s the heartbeat of how we connect with and care for the broader Springfield community.
From collecting donations to organizing hands-on service projects, everything we do is focused on alleviating hardship and building a foundation of hope.
We envision a city where payday lenders no longer prey on the vulnerable, where teens break free from cycles of generational poverty, and where diversity isn’t just tolerated—it’s celebrated. That’s why we’ve partnered with organizations like RISE and Study Alternative School—because we’re serious about creating lasting change.
Every dollar given, every hour volunteered, every effort made is aimed at making our local neighborhoods stronger, safer, and more compassionate. There are needs around the world, but we believe the most powerful impact starts right here at home—not for photo-ops, but for real people, real stories, and real transformation.
We work hand-in-hand with local partners to tackle systemic issues like poverty, homelessness, and inequality. Through advocacy, education, and community organizing, we strive not just to respond to problems, but to prevent them—and build a city where justice and opportunity are available to all.
